Monthly Recap September 2024 - Niagra, Nashville and blogging
Travel
We traveled to New York, Washington DC and Niagara Falls with my parents. It was fun. Then we came to Nashville for a week because my wife had team outing. It is first time for both of us visiting Nashville.
Parking situation is horrible in downtown Nashville. If you plan to stay at hotel in downtown don't rent the car.
There's construction everywhere in downtown. Reminds me of Austin 5 years back when there were very few buildings.
From Nashville we went to Gatlinburg and Smoky mountains. It was fun we saw a bear and also went to skybridge which is longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America.
Tech
- After Nashville trip I am more focused on blogging and improving this site. I came across a post from HN about Why I still blog after 15 years and it is really good. Author is focused on journaling his life and tech. He didn't put any tracker or statistics all this years. Something to think about even if no one reads your blog, it is for you first and then for readers.
- While I am trying to improve my blog I came across other people's blog and one particular blog I saw the author have put his Linkedin link so I reached out to him and say hi. He replied back that I am the first one from his blog to reach out on LinkedIn. Maybe this small gestures help someone motivate to write more
- I came across Cursor AI and Claude 3.5. Cursor is just game changer for me. I have written lot of code using AI but with mac app you just provide context and the AI understand it so better, it gives so much meaningful output that understands the app that you are working on. I would highly recommend to try. I have finished an app in 3 days which I was planning to work on for past 2 years.
